Drooping eyelids and eyebrows, puffiness under the eyes and wrinkles around the eye area can significantly age the face and lead to a tired appearance. Moreover, drooping of the upper eyelids may lead to reduced vision which can cause serious headaches. Blepharoplasty, better known as eyelid correction, can be a fitting solution to reduce the effects of age on the eye area. In the following menu you can find more information on eyelid correction. Procedure
During upper eyelid surgery, Dr. Fantozzi removes the excess subcutaneous fat and loose skin from the eyelid area that causes the eyelid to droop. The incision is made in the eye crease, in a way that minimizes the visibility of scar tissue. Over time this will smooth out even further, leaving only a very thin line right in the crease which is not even visible when the eyes are open. Lower eyelid surgery is very effective in reducing puffiness or ’bags’ under the eyes. During the surgery, Dr. Fantozzi will remove excess fatty deposits and skin underneath the eye. There will be no visible scar tissue here, because the incision is made right under the lash line. Depending on your preferences, the eyelid correction can be performed on both eyelids or just the upper or lower eyelid. The result is a more youthful, invigorated appearance. In order to further enhance results, eyelid correction is commonly performed in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures such as facelifting and forehead lifting. You can read more about those procedures on this page. Blepharoplasty is performed under local anesthesia and sedation, and is normally completed in 15 minutes for each eyelid.
